Sustainability / Awards

Broadway Tech Centre’s campus of buildings utilize many sustainability features in providing an unprecedented level of efficiency, function and cost savings to its occupants.

Broadway Tech Centre has received the BOMA BESt Certification for industry approved environmental best practices in the management of a building. The current and future phases of buildings have and will achieve LEED certification (at either the Gold or Platinum level), employing the following characteristics in the building design:

  • State of the art mechanical systems deliver optimal comfort and control to internal environmental, offering constant volume air flow.
  • Excellent access to multiple modes of public transit (Renfrew Skytrain Station and 99 B-Line bus transit).
  • Large, efficient, simple floor plates for easy tenant interior design to save space.
  • Direct access to the Central Valley Greenway, a cycling and walking route connecting New Westminster to Downtown Vancouver.
  • Water reservoir employed for use of pump and generator to deliver a back-up fire protection system of building sprinklers and standpipes.
  • Utilization of green roofs for both functionality of heat gain and loss optimization and for the aesthetics of views from other buildings on campus.
  • Comprehensive waste management program, including recycling programs for paper, metal, plastic, glass, light bulbs, electrical components and tenant composting.
  • Reducing energy use will lower tenant operating expenses.

Broadway Tech Centre provides on site dedicated security on a 24/7 basis with facilities provided on the street level beside the parkade entrance at 2925 Virtual Way.
